Lions Announce 2022 Cross Country Schedule

COMMERCE – Texas A&M University-Commerce cross country teams have announced their 2022 schedule, the Lions’ first season in Division I and as part of the Southland Conference.

“I’m very excited about the upcoming competitive schedule. We have two talented, young teams that will be tested at some of the most competitive meets in the country,” said coach Trent Phelps. “Both teams are looking forward to the first year of Division I competition and want to compete at a high level within the Southland Conference.”

The Lions’ first race of the season comes in Grand Prairie at the DBU Cross Country Opener on September 3 at Lynn Creek Park, which is the also the location of the second race of the season, the UT-Arlington Season Opener on September 10.

The Southland Conference Championships race is going to be hosted by Nicholls this season in Thibodaux, Louisiana, on October 28. The Lions get their first look of the Manning Fields on September 17, during the Nicholls Cross Country Invitational.

To close out September, the Lions compete in the Chile Pepper Festival, hosted by the University of Arkansas on September 30. The final race before the postseason comes in College Station at the Arturo Barrios Invitational, hosted by Texas A&M on October 15.
