Lion Alum Appointed by Governor Abbott as 62nd District Court Judge
William “Bill” Harris, a 2020 graduate of Texas A&M University-Commerce (now East Texas A&M University) was recently appointed by Texas Governor Greg Abbott to serve as judge of the 62nd District Court. Harris received a Master of Science in History from East Texas A&M, and also holds degrees from Midwestern State University and St. Mary’s University. He has previously served as judge of the Lamar County Court at Law, a position he has held since 2011. The 62nd District Court encompasses Delta, Franklin, Hopkins, and Lamar counties, and Harris’ term expires December 31, 2026. Read more about the appointment.
