Governor Abbott Reappoints ETAMU Alum to Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists
Dr. Sangeeta Singg, a 1981 graduate from East Texas A&M (known then East Texas State University), has been reappointed by Governor Greg Abbott to the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists (TSBEP) with a second term that ends October 31, 2031.
The TSBEP establishes the qualifications for licensure and renewal, as well as the ethical standards of the practice of psychology in Texas. It consists of nine psychology professionals appointed by the governor. This board regulates three licenses: psychologists, psychological associates and school psychologists.
Dr. Singg expressed her gratitude over the reappointment, saying, “It is an honor to continue serving on the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists and to contribute to the board's mission of protecting the public by ensuring ethical and high-quality psychological services across Texas.”
Dr. Singg graduated from East Texas A&M with her Master of Science in Psychology and a Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology. She is a professor of psychology at Angelo State University, where she has served for about three decades as program director of the Graduate Counseling Psychology Program. The Psychological Association of Greater West Texas has honored her with its top honors, the Ten-Year Meritorious Service Award and the Outstanding Leadership in Psychology Award.
