ETAMU Student’s Research Published in State Historical Journal

East Texas A&M University student Aubrey Watkins recently had her research published in “Touchstone,” a collegiate academic journal produced by the Texas State Historical Association’s Walter Prescott Webb Historical Society.
Webb’s paper, which was completed while she was a student at Northeast Texas Community College (NTCC), follows the rise of the Cowboy Church in Texas. In 2023, the paper won fourth place in the under-60-hour division of the Caldwell Memorial Awards, which are given annually by the Webb Society. While a student at NTCC, Watkins was a Presidential Scholar and served as vice president of the school’s Design Club, which she helped found.
Currently at East Texas A&M, Watkins is majoring in social work and is studying for the Law School Admission Test, commonly known as the LSAT, and aims to move into practicing law in the future. She is currently involved in Advocates @ ETAMU, a service organization for social work students that aims to support and empower individuals on campus and within the community, and enhance their well-being by holding to the core values set forth by the National Association of Social Workers Code of Ethics.
