Campus Operations Update for 1-29-2026

Dear Lion Family,

As weather conditions continue to improve, East Texas A&M University will adjust its operational status beginning Thursday, January 29, 2026.

The information below applies to the main campus and East Texas A&M–Dallas. All other locations will continue to follow the decisions of their host institutions.

Campus Status

The East Texas A&M University campus will open on Thursday.

Please be aware that road conditions on campus and in the surrounding Commerce area remain mixed. Some roads are clear, while others are still improving. Everyone traveling to campus is encouraged to drive with care and courtesy, allow extra travel time, leave additional space between vehicles, and adjust based on current conditions. Even where roads appear clear, please continue to use caution.

Academic Expectations

To minimize disruption of academic activities, all classes will continue to be held online.

Students should continue to check their university email and D2L for communication from their instructors. Faculty are expected to communicate directly with students regarding course plans and any updates to coursework or deadlines.

Employee Expectations

Employees who can safely travel to campus may report to work on Thursday.

If you are unable to reach campus safely, please contact your supervisor as soon as possible. Employees who cannot report to campus are expected to work remotely in coordination with their supervisor.

Off-Site Locations

Off-site locations, including RELLIS, Mesquite, and Navarro, will align with decisions made by their host institutions or local school districts. East Texas A&M–Dallas will follow the main campus's guidance unless otherwise communicated by the Office of the President.
