A&M-Commerce to Benefit from Renewed ACUE Partnership for Student Success and Equity
The Texas A&M University System announced a three-year continuation of its partnership with the Association of College and University Educators (ACUE) to expand the initiative to promote quality instruction and student success.
The ACUE partners with colleges and universities in America to ensure student success and equity in every class.
Dr. Laura Isbell, head of the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at A&M-Commerce, said A&M-Commerce will participate in the ACUE program. She said the university has an exceptional team ready to facilitate a full, 25-week course for 33 faculty and instructors, as well as two micro credential courses for 33 graduate assistants. Participants who complete the course can earn full certification in the course topic.
“We are delighted to be awarded the ACUE grant to truly develop our instructors at all levels,” Isbell said. “This is an outstanding opportunity to further develop and enhance the teaching practices on all platforms.”
Assistant dean in the College of Education and Human Services Juan Araujo, said the college will target specific faculty groups to participate in the program.
“In this second year of professional development with ACUE, we are targeting faculty who are new to the academy, are graduate teaching assistants, or want to gain additional information about how to support students in online or face-to-face settings,” Araujo said.
