Texas Association for Black Personnel in Higher Education

The Texas Association of Black Personnel in Higher Education (TABPHE) was established 52 years ago by Dr. Ivory Moore at East Texas A&M University.  TABPHE is a statewide organization with active chapters in Texas public and private two- and four-year institutions. All faculty and staff participate.

TABPHE uses voluntary donations from membership fees to cover ongoing expenses and recognition.  All members of the East Texas A&M community are welcome to participate in any TABPHE activity.

Mission

Our core Mission is to serve as a network and support mechanism for professional faculty and staff to promote well-being, academic excellence, and personal growth.  The Vision aims to ensure that Texas higher education provides personnel with opportunities for advancement while fostering a positive environment for students. TABPHE  offers opportunities for professional development, facilitation of collegial conversations,  support, and recognition of achievements. TABPHE enables the networking and support of the university in the recruitment and retention of students and personnel. TABPHE events are advertised on the university website so that all faculty and staff are aware of events.
