Flexible Housing

East Texas A&M University began offering Flexible Housing in 2019 to allow students to select a roommate regardless of their gender or sex.  This housing option is reflective of housing opportunities available to students off campus where they can select roommates of choice. Flexible Housing is not intended for romantic couples.   

Students will complete the Flexible Housing Application. Students will find the link to the application on the Roommate Group page of the AY 25-26 housing application.

*Flexible Housing is not an LLC, but an option that students can opt into.

Conditions to Apply:     

  1. Students must have a Fall 2025/Spring 2026 Housing Contract on file by April 30th.
  2. A student may not be currently assigned to Overflow Housing.
  3. If a student lists a preferred roommate, the roommate must also have a contract on file by April 30th.
  4. Students must provide a legitimate reason to need Flexible Housing in the application.

To be part of Flexible Housing:

  1. Apply for 2025-2026 housing
  2. Students will complete the Flexible Housing Application. Students will find the link to the application on the Roommate Group page of the AY 25-26 housing application.
